What a beautiful way to help my little one understand life outside of their bubble! This is both a tool for education as well as a delight!
Beautifully written and illustrated book to help teach your children about other cultures in the world. A must read for raising globally conscious children. I particularity love that a portion of the purchase of this book will go to Compassion International to help support the good works they do.
What a creative, clever book to teach kids that their is others in the world that matter. Far too often kids worlds revolve around themselves and this helps me teach my son that others are important too. If you want to raise kids with a global perspective, this is a MUST HAVE!
This book is a wonderful way to open your childs eyes to how big the world is, and yet how we are all still connected in beautiful and real way. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants fun but meaningful books for their children that will help shape their worldview in a positive way. The illustrations are engaging and whimsical!
What a treasure this little book is. Its clever rhyme and cute illustrations introduce children to a world outside their own. The message that children from different parts of the world can share in each other's lives and find so much common ground is one of hope for families fostering cultural awareness. The sturdy board book with its colorful pages will be a great addition to your children's library.
Lorie clearly has a voice of experience and compassion, as evidenced in "A Day in a Life." I believe it is critical for parents to instill a sense of others, a feeling for what it means to know and love people from other parts of the world, and Lorie captures this sentiment in her tale. If you want to raise global kids, to introduce the idea that the world is much larger than your own small circle, read this to your kids, over and over and over again.
This is a cleverly-written, meaningful story that is sing-song and fun to read aloud. Both the words and illustrations do a great job depicting the differences and yet similarities of two little boys living in very different realities. It gives a great message that you can use with your little one to help teach several important life lessons. I'd also say it's unique because it does a good job of spanning ages; it's toddler appropriate but can well be enjoyed by older kids learning to read, too. The illustrations are colorful enough to captivate a very young one, yet detailed enough to engage the attention of an older child. The quality of printing, lighter board pages and binding is excellent. I love reading this book to my son - and I love that it supports Compassion International, an organization very dear to my family's heart. I highly recommend this book, its message and the cause it supports!
